Jim Furyk fans will have another reason to cheer for birdies this season.

Furyk has partnered with the Children's Miracle Network in a program called “Miracle Birdies” and will donate money for each birdie made during the 2011 season, starting at next week’s Heritage, where he is the defending champion.

“We’re coming up with (an amount) right now,” said Furyk, the 2011 PGA Tour player of the year and FedEx Cup champion. “I think somewhere in the $150-$200 per birdie range is where we will land.”

Furyk made 269 birdies in 2010.

Fans can also pledge their support of Furyk online, donating money for each Furyk birdie at www.miraclebirdies.com. Fan’s donations will be given to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

“What I love about the program is that even though they have a huge network of hospitals, every penny that our fans pledge will stay in their community and go to their local hospitals.”

Furyk said he was not sure if the partnership would lead to him playing in the season-ending Children's Miracle Network Classic at Walt Disney World.

“I haven’t committed to yes or no," Furyk said. "Right now, we’re promoting the ‘Miracle Birdies’ a bit more, but I definitely haven’t ruled anything out.
