Janie Jackson, of Huntsville, Ala., has given a verbal commitment to Arizona. Jackson also made unofficial visits to Vanderbilt, LSU, Alabama and Georgia.

Jackson said she chose Arizona because of the coaches and campus, and is excited for the change in weather.

“I’ll be able to practice year round on amazing golf courses,” she said.

She also is excited to work with head coach Laura Ianello and assistant coach Justin Silverstein.

“I think the world of both coaches,” she said. “They are absolutely amazing, and I can't wait to work with them.”

Jackson won the AJGA’s Franklin Junior Classic last summer by one shot after making eagle on the final hole. It was one of three top-3 finishes for Jackson in AJGA events. She also won the Alabama 6A High School State Championship and qualified for the 2010 U.S. Girls’ Junior.
