Alexis Mihelich has been named women’s head coach at Southern Illinois, the school announced. Mihelich replaces Diane Daugherty, who retired in July after 25 years as head coach at SIU.

Russ Cunningham has been named men’s and women’s head coach at Oakland (Mich.) University. Cunningham has five-plus years of Division I coaching experience, having served as an assistant men’s coach at Michigan State (1996-99) and an assistant men’s and women’s coach at Campbell (1993-95).
Kann leaves Golf Channel for position at LPGA
Kraig Kann, who was one of the original on-air talents at the Golf Channel, has been named the chief communications officer at the LPGA, the tour announced Aug. 18.
