PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – In a world of rising prices, it’s always nice to see sales, especially in these economic times.

But at Pebble Beach?

Sales of 2010 U.S. Open garments from the iconic seaside venue either didn’t meet expectations or a buyer made a massive mistake. Regardless, discounts on U.S. Open merchandise are running 50 percent to 75 percent off. Those come-ons are plastered on the window to the U.S. Open shop adjacent to Pebble Beach’s putting green.

Prices still might be high – a Fairway & Greene shirt that retailed for $120 is going for $60 now – but certainly more affordable.

Hats, T-shirts, sweatshirts, outerwear and trinkets can be had for even less.

Normally, these sales are on-site only, but according to a member of the sales staff, Pebble Beach will take orders over the phone and ship anywhere. So if your closet lacks some 2010 U.S. Open gear, call (831) 625-8544.
