The PGA Tour returns to the Monterey Peninsula this week for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. See whom our fantasy experts picked.

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Babineau Dustin Johnson

He won’t walk away with the U.S. Open trophy he left behind in June, but will get a little redemption. The man loves this place, and this is a clear-cut “horses for courses” pick.

Mike Weir

Some people get inspired by being on the Monterey Peninsula, and Weir certainly is one. Maybe it’s as simple as being able to get out of the Canadian winter in February.

Winner: Rickie Fowler (T-13); wild card: Bryce Molder (T-62)

Rude Dustin Johnson

It’s February, not June, so we know what that means. Mark O’Meara won there five times. Why not D.J., the new Prince of Pebble?

Vijay Singh

Old war horse showed signs of a previous life last week at Phoenix.

Winner: Phil Mickelson (T-29); wild card: Anthony Kim (MC).

Martin Nick Watney

I expect a big year from the Northern California native. He’s started the season with a sixth and a fifth, and is a former winner of the Callaway Pebble Beach Invitational, an offseason competition held on the Monterey Peninsula.

Kevin Chappell

The PGA Tour rookie has made two of his first three cuts. He also jump-started his career with a T-6 at this event in 2009.

Winner: Dustin Johnson (T-29); wild card: Ryan Moore (T-73).

McCabe Padraig Harrington

To counter all the moaners and groaners about these pro-ams – slow rounds, bad weather, amateur miscues – we present the affable Irishman. He seems to thrive in these affairs, because they demand a passion for the camaraderie. He’s played each of the past four years here with three decent finishes (T-14, T-16, T-30), and twice he’s won the Dunhill Links in Europe.

David Duval

Could be considered the consummate wild card, but let’s not forget that Double D made a spirited run here a year ago before finishing tied for second. He’s also had a solid start to 2011 – three tournaments, 11 rounds, nothing worse than 72, and a T-17 at Torrey Pines.

Winner: Phil Mickelson (T-29); wild card: Gary Woodland (T-5).

Miceli Geoff Ogilvy

Thumb finally back to normal, we forgot that the Australian was the favorite going into Kapalua earlier this year. He showed why we should pay attention in Phoenix.

Tom Gillis

This was his coming-out party last year. After a great start to the season his game petered out in Phoenix, so I’m looking for more this week.

Winner: Dustin Johnson (T-29); wild card: Ryan Moore (T-73).

Ringler J.B. Holmes

Two-time favorite Dustin Johnson will be the clear favorite, but look for Holmes, who was second to Johnson last year in this event, to be in the hunt. Holmes is coming off a T-5 last week in Phoenix and has a 70.21 scoring average in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Vijay Singh

If you like momentum and “horses for courses,” Vijay is your guy. Singh has a streak of five consecutive rounds in the 60s and posted back-to-back top-20 finishes (T-3 in Phoenix, T-20 at Farmers). He has nine top 20s in 14 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am starts.

Winner: Phil Mickelson (T-29); wild card: Jhonattan Vegas (MC).
