Derksen leads fog-delayed Avantha Masters
NEW DELHI – Robert-Jan Derksen shot a 6-under 66 Thursday to take the lead in the suspended first round of the Avantha Masters.
The 37-year-old Dutchman leads Julio Zapata and Mark Foster by one stroke.
None of the 66 players who teed off in the afternoon finished their round because of darkness at the DLF Golf and Country Club. Fog had delayed the start of morning play.
Besides Zapata and Foster, Darren Beck was also at 5 under with five holes to play. Local favorite Jeev Milkha Singh (68) was close behind along with Rashid Khan (68).
Singh could have tied for the lead but had to take a two-stroke penalty.
