Tiger commits to Match Play Championship

Tiger Woods plays a shot during the last round of the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament in the Gulf emirate on February 13, 2011. Spain's Alvaro Quiros won the Dubai Desert Classic.

Tiger Woods has committed to next week's WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Marana, Ariz., according to his website, www.TigerWoods.com.

Woods won the event in 2003, 2004 and 2008.

Ian Poulter is the defending champion after a 4-and-2 victory against Paul Casey in 2010.

Woods won his titles at La Costa Resort in 2003 and 2004 (David Toms, 2 and 1; Davis Love III, 3 and 2), and he beat Stewart Cink, 8 and 7, at Dove Mountain in 2008.

Woods skipped last year's Match Play and was ousted by Tim Clark in the second round of the 2009 tournament.

Woods finished T-20 at the Dubai Desert Classic last weekend.
