Team of the week: Iowa State
The Cyclones didn’t win the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, but they sure made a statement. Iowa State surprised many by finishing second, leading deep into the final round and nearly knocking off top-ranked Alabama before falling by five strokes. Iowa State, which entered the event at No. 27 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished ahead of several higher-ranked squads, including defending NCAA champion and No. 5 Purdue and No. 9 Georgia. The Cyclones moved up to No. 20 after their runner-up showing.
