Exactly one week after the Crimson Tide women won the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, the ’Bama men captured the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club’s River Course on Tuesday, knocking off fellow top-5 teams Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State.

Led by individual runner-up Bud Cauley’s 9-under 207, Alabama placed all five of its golfers in the top 16. Cauley was joined by Bobby Wyatt (T-4), Hunter Hamrick (T-8), Trey Mullinax (T-11) and Corey Whitsett (T-16). The Crimson Tide, No. 4 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished with a 28-under 836 total, five shots ahead of fifth-ranked Georgia Tech and 11 in front of top-ranked Oklahoma State.

Georgia Tech’s James White earned medalist honors with a 10-under 206, one shot ahead of Cauley and two ahead of teammate Kyle Scott. Georgia Tech’s J.T. Griffin also finished in the top 10 (T-8).
