The Crimson Tide made it a clean sweep in Puerto Rico. One week after the Crimson Tide women won the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, the ’Bama men captured the Puerto Rico Classic at Rio Mar Country Club. Led by individual runner-up Bud Cauley’s 9-under 207, Alabama placed all five of its golfers in the top 16. The Crimson Tide, No. 3 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, finished with a 28-under 836 total, five shots ahead of fifth-ranked Georgia Tech and 11 in front of top-ranked Oklahoma State.
