Fans pick Poulter’s outfit via Facebook vote

Defending champion Ian Poulter is inviting fans to choose his apparel for the opening round of the 2011 World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play.

Take a look at some of the memorable outfits worn by England's Ian Poulter.

Tournament officials, in conjunction with IJP Design, announced Wednesday that the “Dress Ian” campaign will allow fans the ability to select one of three possible outfits for Poulter to wear on Wednesday, Feb. 23, for the first-round match. Fans can go to www.facebook.com/accenturematchplay to view and vote on the outfits.

The Accenture Match Play, the first WGC event of the season, is Feb. 23-27 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club (Dove Mountain) in Marana, Ariz.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what fans choose for me to wear as I set out to defend my World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship title,” Poulter said in a statement. “Of course, I’d love to see the fans in Southern Arizona decked out in IJP Design gear as well … attempting to style their hair like mine is optional.”

Poulter is currently ranked 11th in the Official World Golf Ranking. The Match Play will feature the top 64 in the world ranking.
