Spain has its team for 2011 Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup.

Pro players Azahara Muñoz and Maria Hernandez will make their debuts at the fourth edition of the match-play contest between 18 countries, the Ladies European Tour announced this week.

The formidable, young Spanish team will be on home turf April 14-17 at La Sella Golf Resort in Alicante, Spain, for the four-day match.

Both players earned their place thanks to sensational 2010 seasons on the Ladies European Tour and U.S. LPGA, where Muñoz earned Rookie of the Year honors. The former Arizona State player scored a victory in her pro debut at the 2009 Madrid Ladies Masters.

Hernandez won her maiden professional title at the Allianz Ladies Slovak Open in May. She was second on Europe’s Ryder Cup Wales Rookie of the Year standings behind Korean In-Kyung Kim.

Muñoz and Hernandez replace 2010 representatives Tania Elósegui and Emma Cabrera Bello, who finished eighth last year. The Sweden duo of Anna Nordqvist and Sophie Gustafson won last year, edging Australians Karrie Webb and Karen Lunn on the third playoff hole.

Other player commitments will be announced soon, the LET announced.
