Former Oklahoma State standout Brian Guetz has been named men’s assistant coach at his alma mater, head coach Mike McGraw announced Friday.

Guetz returns to Stillwater after spending last spring as an assistant coach at Colorado State.

“This past spring, I was offered a coaching position at Colorado State,” Guetz said. “The team had a great spring and qualified for the NCAA tournament, which was being held at Karsten Creek. Needless to say, I was excited about returning to Stillwater for the week. Little did I know that, two months later, my family and I would be moving back to be a part of the men’s golf team at OSU.”

Guetz, of Littleton, Colo., competed for the Cowboys from 1993 to '97, earning third-team All-America status in 1996. He was an honorable mention All-American and an All-Big 12 selection the next season.

Guetz played professionally from 1997 to 2009, competing on the Nationwide, Canadian, Asian and Gateway tours.
