USC won its second tournament in as many weeks Tuesday with a four-shot victory over top-ranked Alabama at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.

The Trojans traveled to English Turn Golf and Country Club in New Orleans fresh off a foul-weather win at the Northrop Grumman on Feb. 16. USC was four shots back entering the final round at the Sugar Bowl, but rallied in the final round with a 6-under 282. The team finished at 4-over 868 while Alabama was at 8-over 872.

That final-round charge was led by senior Lizette Salas, who birdied five holes on the way to the clubhouse for a final-round 69. Salas tied for 14th at 1-over 217. Teammates junior Lisa McCloskey and freshman Sophia Popov tied for seventh at 1-over 217.

Host Tulane earned a share of third with Duke in the team competition. Both teams were at 15-over 879. Purdue, the defending national champion, and Virginia were T-5 another shot back.

Freshman Stephanie Meadow led Alabama’s effort, winning her the second tournament of her young career after finishing at 5-under 211. Meadow also won the Lady Puerto Rico Classic to open the spring.

Top-ranked Megan McChrystal, a senior at LSU, finished one shot behind Meadow, while a pair of Duke players – freshman Laetitia Beck and sophomore Lindy Duncan – tied for third at 3-under 213.
