American Express extends partnership with PGA
Monday, March 21, 2011
American Express, which became an official patron of the PGA of America in 2007, announced it will extend its sponsorship through 2013.
The partnership enables American Express to offers its card members a variety of golf benefits, including access to special consumer experiences at the PGA Championship and the 2012 Ryder Cup. Among the benefits: increased ticket access, including early on-sale opportunities; access to play championship venues; and entry to the Cardmember Club, American Express’ on-site hospitality.
The sponsorship also gives American Express users opportunities to participate in year-around golf programs offered by the association. For example, card holders who purchase a private lesson from a participating PGA professional with any American Express card can invite a guest to join the lesson at no additional cost. (Such programs are listed under PlayGolfAmerica.com.)
“The PGA of America is proud that American Express will continue its exceptional partnership with our association and extend its exemplary service record that PGA professionals and the golf traveler have long trusted,” said Joe Steranka, PGA of America CEO, in a statement.
