Jaworski (No. 30, 2012) commits to North Carolina
Zack Jaworski, of Milton, Ga., has given a verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina. Jaworski is ranked No. 30 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings for the class of 2012 and is the top-ranked player in Georgia for his class.
Jaworski made unofficial visits to UNC, Vanderbilt and Virginia and also considered Michigan, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and South Florida. He said the overall feel of the campus combined with the great personalities of head coach John Inman and assistant coach Don Hill made it a great fit.
“The coaches at UNC made me feel extremely welcome, and they also gave me great confidence that I would be in good hands throughout my college career,” he said.
Jaworski also made it evident that the UNC practice facilities caught his eye during his first unofficial visit.
“The state-of-the-art equipment at the Chapman Center really made me feel like I would have a great opportunity to improve my game in the long run. I really look forward to getting the chance to make UNC my home for four years,” Jaworski said.
Jaworski tied for sixth in the 2010 AJGA Palmetto Junior, recorded the tournament-low score of 67 in the 2010 Junior Jones Cup and finished in the top 20 in this year’s Junior Heritage. Jaworski also shot a career-low 8-under 136 (69-67) to win a Southeastern Junior Golf Tour event at the Capital City Club’s Crabapple Course, site of the 2012 NCAA Championship.
