Yang Yue Kimmy Hill has given a verbal commitment to Texas Tech for the fall of 2012. Hill also took unofficial visits to Central Florida and TCU, and considered UC Davis, Oregon State and Ohio State.

Hill, of Palm Desert, Calif., settled on Texas Tech mostly because she wanted to work with head coach JoJo Robertson.

“She really made me feel extremely welcome,” Yue said. “She has a great golf background. I believe her and assistant coach John Cleary will help me to continue to improve my game.”

Hill said she also is pleased with Texas Tech’s golf facilities, especially as the university works to complete a new clubhouse and team locker room.

Hill had three top-10 finishes in AJGA events last year, and won four events on the JAGS tour. She is No. 26 in Golfweek’s rankings for the class of 2012.
