Masanori Kobayashi birdied the second hole of a playoff with Ryo Ishikawa to claim the Totoumi Hamamatsu Open title in Japan.

It was Kobayashi's first Japan Golf Tour Organization victory, using a final round 7-under 65 for a four-day total of 268.

At Grandee Hamanako Golf Club in Shizuoka, Ishikawa forced the playoff with a birdie on the par-5 18th hole. They both birdied the same hole on the first hole of the playoff, but Ishikawa could only manage par the third time around on No. 18, losing the duel with Kobayashi.

Kobayashi won $440,000 for the victory.

Yuta Ikeda finished in solo third, while Mitsuhiro Tateyama and Paul Sheehan finished T-4. The overnight leader, Azuma Yano, slipped to ninth after a final-round 73.
