Pederson (No. 137, 2013) commits to Army

Steven Pederson of Scotch Plains, N.J., has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Army. Pederson didn’t take unofficial visits to any other schools.

Pederson calls it his dream to serve in the Army, and said the challenging academics plus opportunity to serve at West Point was more than any other school could offer.

“I have a deep love for my country, and it is my dream to serve in the United States Army as an officer,” Pederson said. “Coach Brian Watts is a super-nice man and is totally committed to winning and improving the program.”

Pederson finished in the top 5 at the FCWT event at Newport National, and also qualified for the MGA Ike and Met Open Amateurs.
