Scotland’s Law to make pro debut this month

David Law, one of the most promising amateurs in Scotland, has turned professional. The 20-year-old from Aberdeen, Scotland, will make his pro debut at the Hero Indian Open, one of the most lucrative events on the Asian Tour, on Oct. 13-16.

Last month Law was overlooked for one of the final spots on the Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team, but that same week he won a pro event, the Aberdeen Asset Management Northern Open, becoming the first amateur in more than 40 years to win on the Tartan tour.

Tagged with the title of being Scotland’s “next Colin Montgomerie,” Law has signed a contract with 4Sports & Entertainment. His mentor, former Open champion Paul Lawrie, also is a 4Sports client.
