Ross (NR, 2012) commits to Wisconsin

Matthew Ross of Hartland, Wis., has given a verbal commitment to play golf at Wisconsin.

Ross, who is unranked in the Class of 2012, won the 2009 AJGA Junior All-Star Penn State and was named to the 2009 AJGA Junior All-Star Team. He was runner-up at the 2010 Wisconsin Junior and advanced to the 2010 U.S. Junior. Ross also was first-team all-state in Wisconsin in 2011.

“I am very excited to become a Badger. The new coaching staff, head coach Michael Burcin and assistant coach Bryant Odom, was a big part of my commitment. I knew right away when I met these coaches I wanted to spend four years with them.”

Ross also made unofficial visits to Illinois, Ohio State, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Marquette.
