For the first time in eight years, Austin Peay has won back-to-back tournaments.

Marco Iten sank a 40-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole Oct. 18 as the Governors swept the team and individual titles at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Ky.

Iten, a sophomore from Niederglatt, Switzerland, shot 70-69-69 for an 8-under 208 at the Links at Novadell, then outlasted Samford’s Drew Aimone for the medal. It is Iten’s first collegiate victory.

Austin Peay’s 25-under 839 score beat Jacksonville State, also a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, by nine shots. Samford (850), Binghamton (859) and Eastern Kentucky (860) rounded out the top 5.

APSU’s Anthony Bradley placed third at 7-under 209. Teammates Trey Tarpley (T-6) and Tucker Wallace (T-10) also placed in the top 10.

Austin Peay closed its fall schedule with a second consecutive title after having won Cincinnati’s Bearcat Invitational the week earlier.

Coach Kirk Kayden called it “a great two weeks.”
