Duncan (No. 86, 2012) commits to Middle Tennessee
Thursday, September 1, 2011
Drake Duncan of Bowling Green, Ky., has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Middle Tennessee.
Duncan, who is ranked No. 86 in the 2012 class, will be a senior this year at South Warren High School. He made unofficial visits to Belmont and North Alabama, and received offers from Belmont, Lynn University and Charleston Southern. Other schools that expressed interest were Western Kentucky, South Alabama, Valdosta State and Louisville. Duncan is the No. 2-ranked player in Kentucky.
“I committed to MTSU for many reasons,” Duncan said. “One is that the coaching staff is amazing. They have so many connections and tools for the players, so they can be as good as you want to be, if you put in the work. Another reason is I have known Paul Sansom (sophomore on the team) for a long time, and his family is close to mine. It was just an amazing opportunity that I could not have passed up on, and I am thrilled to be a part of the Blue Raiders,” Duncan said.
Duncan finished T-18 at Bubba Conlee National Junior in July and T-21 at the Press Thornton Future Masters. In June, he was T-12 at the AJGA Franklin Junior.
