Alan Bratton’s first tournament as head coach of the Oklahoma State women’s team was an unqualified success. The former OSU men’s assistant and player led the Cowgirls to a shocking come-from-behind victory Sept. 14 at the Dale McNamara Invitational at The Patriot Golf Club in Owasso, Okla.

Oklahoma State shot a scorching 13-under 275 in the final round to finish with a 4-over 868 total, five shots better than Arizona State (301), which had led OSU by 21 shots going into the final round. Four Cowgirls finished in the top 10.

An 8-under 64 from sophomore Jayde Panos led the way for the Cowgirls, who also got a 68 from Josephine Janson, a 71 from Kelsey Vines and a 72 from Hillary Wood. Panos finished second individually at 2-under 214, four shots behind individual medalist Giulia Molinaro of Arizona State.

Northwestern finished third at 19-over 883, followed by Iowa State (888) and host Tulsa (901). readers: We value your input and welcome your comments, but please be respectful in this forum.
