NEWBERRY, S.C. — Newberry College is losing its successful men's and women's golf coaches.
The school said Monday that Brian McCants is leaving his position with the men's team to take an assistant's job in Kansas. He'll be joined by Newberry's women's coach, wife Lauren McCants, in October.
Brian McCants was a four-time South Atlantic Conference coach of the year in six-plus seasons with the Wolves. Lauren McCants won the league coaching honor twice during her time with the NCAA Division II program.
The school said it will conduct a national search to replace both coaches.
