Charleston Southern makes 2 moves

Thursday, August 2, 2012

Charleston Southern announced two moves within its golf programs Monday.

Matthew Cram-Smith, who served as an assistant for the Buccaneers’ men’s and women’s teams last season, was promoted to head women’s coach. Mike Wilson, the men’s head coach, was named director of golf and will oversee both programs.

"I greatly appreciate the opportunity that has been extended to me and especially look forward to continuing to work with and learn from Mike Wilson," Cram-Smith said. "I believe my own experiences as a college player and professional have prepared me to lead these talented players in their own competitive careers."

Said Wilson: "It is a great honor. . . . My goal is to work with our women’s coach and student-athletes in trying to build the strongest golf programs in the Big South Conference." readers: We value your input and welcome your comments, but please be respectful in this forum.
