AKRON, Ohio -- Tiger Woods got his putter going early and then burned the edges over his final nine for a 4-under 66 on Sunday at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

After starting the tournament 70-72, Woods played the weekend rounds 6 under and finished at 4 under for the tournament. Currently that is good enough for a T-9 finish.

Jim Furyk and Keegan Bradley are currently in a duel with six holes remaining, with Furyk holding a two-shot lead.

Stay tuned as we keep you up-to-date on the exciting finish at Firestone CC.

Update #2: 5:11 p.m. EDT

Well, that was an exciting 16th hole, as each player birdied, with Louis Oosthuizen (11 under) chipping in from behind the green, Jim Furyk (14 under) nailing a 15-footer and Keegan Bradley (13 under) answering them both with a 10-footer.

• • •

Update #1: 4:33 p.m. EDT

Keegan Bradley has moved to within one shot of Jim Furyk with a birdie at No. 14. Bradley is 5 under on the day.

• • •

No. 18, Par 4, 464 yards

Tiger has some company for best round of the day, with Aaron Baddeley already posting a 4-under 66 and Kyle Stanley and K.J. Choi both at 4 under and entering their final holes (Stanley is playing with Tiger).

Off the tee: Tiger saves his best for last, using driver and smashing it around 355 yards down the middle of the fairway.

Approach shot: With only 110 yards into the green, Tiger plays a risky shot to the back pin location and it settles pin-high and about 15 feet to the left.

• On the green: Indicative of his week, his birdie putt hits the lip and runs out, leaving him with another tap-in par. He finishes his round with nine consecutive pars, but still fires a 4-under 66.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 18 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Keegan Bradley is getting hot at the right time, draining a short birdie try at the par-4 11th to cut Jim Furyk's lead to two shots.

• • •

No. 17, Par 4, 400 yards

Tiger has put himself in position all day for birdie tries and tap-in pars, a philosophy that should work at Kiawah.

Off the tee: With no need to use driver, Tiger takes iron and sends it up the middle of the fairway, leaving a little less than 150 yards to the green.

Approach shot: With the pin only six paces above a bunker in front of the green, Tiger takes it past the flag and will have about 20 feet for birdie.

On the green: Tiger narrowly misses another birdie try and leaves himself a little less than 3 feet for par, which he knocks in.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 17 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Keegan Bradley birdies the par-4 10th to get to 10 under, only three shots back of Jim Furyk. Bradley is alone in second place after another bogey by Louis Oosthuizen drops him to 9 under.

• • •

No. 16, Par 5, 667 yards

Tiger moves to the final par 5 on the course, one that is truly a three-shot hole for most, regardless of length off the tee.

Off the tee: With driver in hand, Tiger sends it up the right side and he finds the rough for only the third time on Sunday. He has more than 300 yards left to the green.

Second shot: Having no choice but to lay up, Tiger just puts it in the middle of the fairway and he'll have about 125 yards into the green for his third.

Approach shot: With wedge in hand, Tiger shows better distance control and lands it pin-high and he'll have about 15 feet for a birdie.

On the green: Tiger puts perfect speed on it, but it settles about 5 inches to the left and he taps in for his seventh consecutive par of the back nine.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 16 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Keegan Bradley makes a big par save on the 9th hole to stay at 9 under, while Jim Furyk also makes par to stay at 13 under. Furyk is now three shots ahead after Louis Oosthuizen made bogey.

• • •

No. 15, Par 3, 221 yards

That is now five slight misses in a row, but Tiger will take tap-in pars any day.

Off the tee: Tiger plays a nice tee ball to about pin-high and 23 feet to the left of the hole.

On the green: Tiger hits his birdie attempt like he expects a little bit of a bend from right to left, but it stays a bit right and has 2 feet left for par, which he knocks in for a sixth consecutive par on the back nine.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 15 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jim Furyk two-putts for par on No. 8, as do Louis Oosthuizen and Keegan Bradley to keep the leaderboard in tact.

• • •

No. 14, Par 4, 467 yards

That is four slight birdie misses in a row, while Tiger's 4-under round is the best of the day thus far, it could be much better.

Off the tee: Another driver and another fairway hit for Tiger, who blasts it up the right side and leaves himself about 165 yards into the green.

Approach shot: Tiger takes a chance and attacks the pin on the left side and lands pin-high about 15 feet to the left, just in front of a bunker.

Around the green: Tiger takes another aggressive swing on the putt from just off the green and runs it through the break and about 3 feet past.

On the green: Tiger knocks in the comebacker to stay at 4 under and nine shots behind Jim Furyk.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 14 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jim Furyk (13 under) and Louis Oosthuizen (11 under) both par No. 7, while Keegan Bradley drains a birdie to get to 9 under.

• • •

No. 13, Par 4, 471 yards

That birdie miss at No. 12 will sting slightly after a brilliant tee ball, but his stroke does look much better on Sunday.

Off the tee: Tiger takes driver again and overcooks this one a bit, putting it in the left rough with about 150 yards left to the green. It is only his second missed fairway of the day.

Approach shot: With pitching wedge in hand, Tiger chooses to take this one high into the air and lands about 24 feet under the hole for another look at birdie.

On the green: Tiger reads the birdie attempt a bit too far left and misses by about 2 feet, and he taps that in for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 13 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jim Furyk picks up his first bogey of the day at No. 6 to fall back to 13 under, but still two clear of Louis Oosthuizen. K.J. Choi is also 4 under on his round to move to 4 under. Choi and Tiger have the rounds of the day going thus far.

• • •

No. 12, Par 3, 180 yards

Tiger has hit 9 of 11 greens in regulation thus far on Sunday.

Off the tee: With the hole in the front left, Tiger takes dead aim at the pin and lands it under the hole and he'll have about 10 feet for birdie.

On the green: Tiger leaves another one within inches of the cup, not playing enough break from right to left and he settles for a third consecutive par to open his back nine. The last two really looked like birdies.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 12 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Louis Oosthuizen bogeys the par-3 5th hole to fall back to 11 under, now three back of Jim Furyk, who makes a 4-footer for par on No. 5.

• • •

No. 11, Par 4, 418 yards

Tiger remains in 11th place and is a single shot outside creeping into the top 10 at a tournament he has won seven times.

Off the tee: Tiger takes 3-wood again and plays his stinger down the left side of the fairway, leaving himself less than 125 yards to the green.

Approach shot: With wedge in hand, Tiger flies it right over the flagstick and settles about 22 feet behind the hole. Tiger's wedge play has been suspect at best this week.

On the green: Tiger leaves this birdie attempt on the lip, finding the perfect line but it just didn't have enough pace to make one more revolution.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 11 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jim Furyk makes his first par of the day (he birdied his first three holes) to stay two shots ahead of Louis Oosthuizen. Keegan Bradley and Rory McIlroy are playing solid golf and are tied for third at 8 under, but will need a birdie binge to catch Furyk.

• • •

No. 10, Par 4, 410 yards

Wow, what a second shot for Tiger at No. 9. Going from trouble to tap-in birdie is vintage Tiger Woods. He has been up-and-down on the back nine this week, but a solid finish could be good for Kiawah later this week.

Off the tee: Tiger takes 3-wood off the tee and hammers it down the middle of the fairway and has only 135 yards into the green.

Approach shot: Tiger plays a nice approach into the 10th green, landing it pin-high and about 25 feet to the right for another birdie try.

On the green: Tiger doesn't put a good stroke on his birdie attempt, leaving it a little less than 5 feet short of the hole. But he makes that for a solid par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 10 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jim Furyk birdies No. 3 to start his day birdie-birdie-birdie and is now at 14 under, two shots clear of Louis Oosthuizen and six clear of Rory McIlroy.

• • •

No. 9, Par 4, 494 yards

Tiger is making a run at the top 10 and needs to avoid any problems here at the long par 4, as he'll have two short par-4s at the outset of the back nine that he birdied on Thursday.

Off the tee: Tiger takes driver - again - and misses his first fairway of the day, sending it into the left rough and will have about 175 yards into the green.

Approach shot: Easily the shot of the day here, as Tiger muscles it out of a buried lie and manages to get it to stick less than 2 feet from the cup.

On the green: Tiger taps in for his fourth birdie of the front nine and makes the turn in 11th place.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 4 under (thru 9 holes; 4 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jim Furyk two-putts from the fringe for birdie at the par-5 2nd hole to move to 13 under, while Louis Oosthuizen has his eagle attempt lip out and he also birdies to get to 12 under.

• • •

No. 8, Par 4, 482 yards

That was a really nice read by Tiger on No. 7, with big movement from left to right. He was missing those on Thursday and Friday. Tiger is now T-12, one shot outside the top 10.

Off the tee: The adrenaline seems to be pumping for Tiger, smacking a driver right down the middle of the fairway to the tune of 355 yards. He has less than 140 yards into the green.

Approach shot: Tiger puts it on the green, but leaves himself more than 35 feet for birdie.

On the green: After watching Matt Kuchar put one in from a greenside bunker, Tiger never really gets his birdie attempt on line and settles for a par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 3 under (thru 8 holes; 3 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Louis Oosthuizen makes a birdie bomb at No. 1 to move to 11 under, but stays a shot behind after leader Jim Furyk takes advantage of a great second shot to about 6 feet and he drains the putt to get to 12 under. Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy misses a 10-foot eagle attempt on No. 2 and taps in for birdie to move to 7 under, but still five shots off the lead.

• • •

No. 7, Par 3, 219 yards

Tiger has burned the edge a couple of times today, but does look more comfortable with his pace and reads on these greens.

Off the tee: The hole is guarded by a large bunker on its left, but Tiger goes right at it and lands about 13 feet under the hole for another birdie try.

On the green: And Tiger buries another birdie putt, his first from this range of the week.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 3 under (thru 7 holes; 3 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: World No. 1 Luke Donald starts his day with a bogey at No. 1 and falls back to 3 under, while Rory McIlroy just misses a birdie and settles for a par to stay at 6 under. Last week's PGA Tour winner Scott Piercy is at 2 under after a birdie at No. 5.

• • •

No. 6, Par 4, 469 yards

Tiger hasn't been good in that 15- to 18-foot range this week, normally an area where he can drop a couple to make up strokes in a hurry. He is 4 of 5 on greens hit today, with seven putts thru five holes.

Off the tee: Another driver, another fairway, sending this one up the right side and leaving himself about 185 yards into the green.

Approach shot: Tiger uses a sawed-off swing and the ball cuts a bit too much and finds the intermediate cut of rough, pin-high and about 30 feet left of the hole.

Around the green: Tiger nearly holes this long one, but runs it about 2 feet past. He knocks that in for another par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 under (thru 6 holes; 2 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Jason Dufner buries an eagle attempt at the par-5 2nd hole to move to 6 under and in a tie for fourth. David Toms has joined a group at 4 under with birdies at Nos. 1 and 3 to start his round. Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia gets back to 2 under with a birdie at No. 6. Garcia has three birdies on the day.

• • •

No. 5, Par 3, 200 yards

That was a big birdie putt at No. 4. Not necessarily because he is going to chase down leader Jim Furyk, but because Tiger has been looking for answers with his putter all week.

Off the tee: Playing at only 187 yards today, Tiger scoops it high into the air and takes it past the flag and it settles about 18 feet to the right, which he'll have for another birdie.

On the green: Tiger is aggressive with his birdie attempt and runs it about 4 feet past and he raps that in for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 under (thru 5 holes; 2 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Lee Slattery and K.T. Kim are both 2 under thru four holes to get to 4 under overall, seven shots off Furyk's lead.

• • •

No. 4, Par 4, 471 yards

With the course soft due to the rain and thunderstorms, players are going to be able to attack these greens. Tiger missed an opportunity there, but if he can keep it in the fairway, he could get further into the red.

Off the tee: Another driver off the tee and he hammers it up the left side of the fairway and will have about 170 yards into the green.

Approach shot: Tiger gets a lot of fairway on that shot and hits the green, but leaves himself about 30 feet for birdie.

On the green: Tiger finds the bottom of the cup with his birdie attempt, giving a nice wave to the crowd as he moves to 2 under. That is three one-putts in his opening four holes.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 2 under (thru 4 holes; 2 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Bubba Watson drops a shot at the par-3 5th hole, while Sergio Garcia also gives one back at the 4th hole to put a halt on their nice starts.

• • •

No. 3, Par 4, 442 yards

A couple of pieces of good news thus far on Sunday for Tiger: Only two putts in two holes and has also kept his ball in the fairway.

Off the tee: Tiger rips a 3-wood and this one runs up the middle of the fairway to the tune of 315 yards. But the horn has sounded for the day's first weather delay.

Approach shot: After nearly three hours, Tiger finally gets to take his shot from only 120 yards, and puts it past the hole and spins it back a bit and will have about 12 feet for birdie.

On the green: Tiger puts the right pace on it, but the birdie attempt slides by on the right and he taps in for par.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 under (thru 3 holes; 1 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Sergio Garcia has started par-birdie-birdie to get to 2 under for the tournament.

• • •

No. 2, Par 5, 526 yards

With the lengthy Kiawah Island Ocean Course now on the horizon, Tiger's play with driver will be critical to his success at the PGA Championship. Today's par-5s should be a good indicator on how comfortable he is.

Off the tee: Well, Tiger takes driver and knocks it up the right side of the fairway and will have about 230 yards into the green.

Second shot: With the pin tucked on the far right, Tiger doesn't play enough club and comes up short of the green and has about 70 feet to the hole.

Third shot: Tiger plays a beautiful chip to about 3 feet under the hole, which he'll have for an early birdie.

On the green: He does knock in the short birdie attempt to get back into red figures for the first time since the 17th hole on Thursday.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 under (thru 2 holes; 1 under for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Two groups ahead of Tiger, Bubba Watson picks up an eagle at No. 2 to get to 2 under for the tournament. He opened with a birdie at No. 1. Meanwhile, Ian Poulter has moved to even par with two early birdies thru his first three holes.

• • •

No. 1, Par 4, 399 yards

Tiger is wearing his normal Sunday garb - black hat, red shirt, black pants and black shoes. Sunday's round features threesomes, so the pace of play might be a bit slower after three days of twosomes.

Off the tee: With 3-wood in hand, Tiger smacks it down the middle of the fairway and leaves himself just over 135 yards into the green.

Approach shot: With some heavy overnight rain, the players are able to play lift, clean and place today. But it doesn't seem to help Tiger, who hits the green, but spins back off and has about 40 feet from just off the green. Tiger's short irons have given him fits all week.

Around the green: Tiger won't be happy with this one, leaving his third shot about 7 feet short of the hole and he'll have a lengthy attempt at par after a nice tee shot.

On the green: Tiger manages to knock in his par attempt to avoid an opening bogey.

TIGER ON THE DAY: Even (thru 1 hole; Even for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: Overnight rains might make Firestone susceptible to some low scores today, and Retief Goosen is hot out of the gate, going 3 under thru his first 3 holes to get to 1 under for the tournament. Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson also pick up opening birdies.
