FARMINGDALE, N.Y. -- Let the Playoffs begin.

And what a week it promises to be at the Barclays, the first of four FedEx Cup playoffs events that will conclude at the Tour Championship the week before the Ryder Cup.

To kick things off, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy will be paired (along with Zach Johnson) for the opening two rounds, setting up one of the most intriguing tee times of the season. (Check out all the tee times here)

McIlroy, coming off his dominating performance at the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course, is playing his first tournament since winning his second major title and is the early favorite from our fantasy panel.

Woods does receive some love from one of our panelists, but will enter the tournament as an underdog in our panel's collective eyes.

As for that fantasy panel, Jim McCabe continues to hold down the top position and those chasing him will need a win from one of their picks to catch him.

Here is a look at this week's picks:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Rory McIlroy

Why? Did you see him blow away the PGA Championship field? His great form should carry over on a difficult Bethpage Black course that is a big ballpark that favors bombers.

Scott Piercy

RBC Canadian Open winner has had a hot summer.

Winner: Jason Dufner ($162,067); wild card: Ryan Moore ($21,320). 2012 total: $8,107,120.

McCabe Bo Van Pelt

In addition to what he's done in four of his last five starts (2nd, T-7, T-8, T-18) and that he's played classic fairways-and-green golf courses like Bethpage Black very well, there's this: We could use a little bit of a dilemma for the American Ryder Cup captain, just to make things interesting, and here's the guy who could supply it.

Robert Garrigus

He's T-4, T-25, T-2, and T-21 in his last four starts, so there's sufficient form to bank on. Also, he's a big-park player and Bethpage fits the bill.

Winner: Brandt Snedeker ($36,920); wild card: David Toms (MC). 2012 total: $10,455,387.

Martin Rory McIlroy

Confidence is high after his dominating PGA Championship victory. He finished 10th in the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black, so he's had past success there.

Scott Stallings

After struggling with injuries for much of the season, Stallings is healthy and playing well. He's finished 1st-7th-MC-14th in his past four PGA Tour starts.

Winner: Webb Simpson ($48,273); wild card: Ben Kohles ($10,296). 2012 total: $5,502,631.

Miceli Tiger Woods

Much success at Bethpage and with his game looking better, Woods is the pick this week.

Bud Cauley

The rookie has looked stellar as of late, with three top-10 finishes in his last four starts.

Winner: Brandt Snedeker ($36,920); wild card: Blake Adams ($11,440). 2012 total: $7,045,482.

Ringler Keegan Bradley

Placed first (WGC Firestone) and third (PGA Championship) in his last two starts and returning to area – Bethpage – in which he is familiar with. The New York fans will certainly be cheering on the former St. John’s player.

Geoff Ogilvy

Very quietly has had a good 2012, making the cut in 15 of 17 starts. Placed in the top 25 in last three starts which included two majors and a WGC event.

Winner: Carl Pettersson ($214,933); wild card: Gary Christian ($21,320). 2012 total: $5,463,290.
