PGA of America, eBay launch online retail venture

The convenience of online shopping. The peace of mind of dealing with PGA pros.
With the promise of delivering both, the PGA of America unveiled The Pro Shops, an e-commerce venture with eBay offering consumers the opportunity to buy new and used golf equipment.
The online storefront, which can be accessed through PGA.com and eBay, display a full inventory of equipment that has been inspected and listed by PGA pros. PGA members participating in the retail venture have pledged to ensure product authenticity and encourage the trade-in and resale of golf equipment.
The equipment industry as a whole has capitalized on e-commerce, using it as a platform to manage inventory, spur new product sales and make equipment purchasing more affordable. The PGA Trade-In Network was established to achieve these goals, and now its access is broadened with eBay's involvement.
"The PGA Trade-In Network is a great opportunity for golfers to access equipment directly from PGA professionals," said Allen Wronowski, the association's president. "Golfers want the best available equipment from a trusted source. To have eBay assist in the transaction makes it an easy and enjoyable path."
Said Christopher Payne of eBay North America: "This is more than just a brand bringing a store on eBay. We view the PGA Trade-In Network as key partners."
