Two teams added to the Tavistock Cup
Tuesday, August 28, 2012
Two teams have been added to the 2013 Tavistock Cup, increasing the field to six teams. Oak Tree National in Edmond, Okla., and Primland in Meadows of Dan, Va., are the latest additions. They’ll compete with Albany, Isleworth, Lake Nona and Queenwood on March 25-26 at Isleworth in the Orlando, Fla., suburb of Windermere. The Tavistock Cup began in 2004 as an intra-Orlando competition between PGA Tour players living at Lake Nona and Isleworth.
The Pete Dye-designed Oak Tree National hosted the 1988 PGA Championship. Oak Tree National’s team promises to have a strong connection with Oklahoma State’s alumni roster.
Located in southwest Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Primland is an eco-conscious golf resort. Team Primland will carry a solid Wake Forest presence. Teams will be announced in March.
Lake Nona has won four consecutive Tavistock Cups.
