No. 17 Oklahoma State

2011-12 Golfweek rank: 19

Go-to girl: Kelsey Vines

Season outlook: Oklahoma State will feature a familiar roster and rely heavily on upperclassmen after losing only one player (Jocelyn Alford) to graduation in the spring.

The key will be Vines, a senior who advanced to the NCAA Championship as an individual after the team finished a disappointing 11th at NCAA regionals. After two victories and five other top 5s last season, Oklahoma State proved it at least has the potential to compete with the nation's upper echelon. With another year of experience, the Cowgirls have a good chance to make amends for last season's NCAA miss.

Juniors Jayde Panos, Amy Ruengmateekhun and Josephine Janson were the Nos. 2-4 scorers, respectively, behind Vines. Other returnees include senior Hillary Wood, junior Lauren Falley and sophomore Courtney Ferguson, and head coach Alan Bratton also adds freshman Megan Blonien, who won the Oklahoma 5A high school state title four times (she's just the second player to accomplish that feat). One of those latter four needs to step up to fill Alford’s void.
