2011-2012 Golfweek rank: 18

Go-to guy: Chase Seiffert

Season outlook: Few college golfers had the type of summer Florida State senior Chase Seiffert did. Seiffert won five tournaments: the Sherman Invitational, Florida Amateur, Florida Open, Oglethorpe Invitational and, most recently, the Florida Amateur Match Play, where he defeated incoming Seminoles freshman Hank Lebioda in the final.

Seiffert, second on the team last season with a 72.5 stroke average, steps into the No. 1 role vacated by four-time All-American Brooks Koepka, who notched three individual victories and posted a school-record 71.09 stroke average as a senior in 2011-12. Koepka and Wesley Graham are the two major losses for the Seminoles, who also return senior Doug Letson and sophomore Daniel Berger. Letson had four top 10s last year, and Berger had a solid end to his freshman season, leading Florida State at the ACC Championship (T-7), NCAA regionals (3) and NCAA Championship (T-21).

The Seminoles hope to get similar production out of their newcomers this season. Lebioda and Collin Engelhardt, who were high school teammates at Trinity Prep in Winter Park, Fla., are part of a freshman class that also includes internationals Rowin Caron (Netherlands) and Cristobal Del Solar (Chile). Junior Joaquin Lolas also should contribute.
