Cheyenne Woods notches first pro victory

Cheyenne Woods watches her tee shot on the 17th hole during the first round at the 2012 U.S. Women's Open at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wis. on Thursday, July 5, 2012.

Cheyenne Woods captured her first victory as a professional, firing a 1-under 69 Thursday to cruise to a four-shot victory in a Suncoast Ladies Series event at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Woods took a five-shot lead into the final round of the 54-hole event, posting rounds of 67-68 to take control of the tournament.

The Wake Forest product finished in second place last week at another Suncoast event. Woods finished T-50 at the Evian Masters earlier this summer and missed the cut at the U.S. Women's Open.

Uncle Tiger Woods took to Twitter to congratulate his niece: "Congrats to my niece Cheyenne on winning her first professional event on SunCoast Ladies Series Tour! Won by 4, very proud."
