The U.S. Golf Association announced the selection of Davis Love III as the recipient of the 2013 Bob Jones Award.

The Bob Jones Award is the USGA’s highest honor and recognizes an individual who demonstrates spirit, personal character and respect for the game, as Jones did.

Love owns 20 career PGA Tour titles, including the 1997 PGA Championship and two Players Championship titles. He was runner-up at the 1995 and ’99 Masters, and at the 1996 U.S. Open.

In 1997, Love won the USGA International Book Award for “Every Shot I Take,” a tribute to his late father. In 2008 he won the PGA Tour’s Payne Stewart Award.

Love also helped establish the Davis Love Foundation in 2005, which is now the host organization for the PGA Tour’s McGladrey Classic.

His latest role was captaining Team USA at the 2012 Ryder Cup

Love will receive the Bob Jones Award during the USGA’s Annual Meeting on Feb. 2.
