PGA Tour releases first part of 2013-14 schedule
Disney's Magnolia Course won't see this type of crowd for a PGA Tour event in 2013-14 after being left off the opening part of the schedule.
The PGA Tour announced the first six events of its 2013-14 schedule on Monday.
The lineup includes the Frys.com Open, Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, CIMB Classic, WGC-HSBC Champions, McGladrey Classic and OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
Not included is a tournament at Disney, which has hosted a Tour event for the past 42 years.
The move was not surprising, however, as Davis Love III told Golfweek after the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic in November that the Tour told him there was a 10 percent chance of Disney being included in the 2013-14 schedule. Disney was also without a title sponsor.
The CIMB Classic will become an official PGA Tour event for the first time.
The remaining schedule will be announced later next year.
2013-14 PGA Tour schedule (opening six tournaments):
Oct. 10-13: Frys.com Open, CordeValle GC, San Martin, Calif.
Oct. 17-20: Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas
Oct. 24-27: CIMB Classic, The Mines Resort & GC, Selangor, Malaysia
Oct. 31-Nov. 3: WGC-HSBC Champions, Shesan International GC, Shanghai
Nov. 7-10: McGladrey Classic, Sea Island Resort (Seaside), St. Simons Island, Ga.
