Cobra AMP Cell fairway woods

The Cobra AMP Cell fairway woods are designed with three key features that the company believes will help golfers create their desired ball flight while getting more forgiveness.

An adjustable hosel system that Cobra calls MyFly lets players change the loft of either the 3-4 and 5-7 fairway woods within a 3-degree range. Thanks to that adjustability, golfers should be able to create the ideal gaps between fairway woods and hybrids (or long irons).

Regardless of the loft setting, Cobra ensured that the AMP Cell fairway woods will sit squarely at address by engineering a strip on the sole called a SmartPad. This area runs between the toe and the heel, and tilts the clubhead into a flat, square position.

Finally, after studying the way that golfers mis-hit shots, Cobra developed a face that is more forgiving high in the toe and low in the heel. The company calls it e9 Face Technology and has used the design philosophy previously in drivers and woods. Because the updated face was made lighter, Cobra was able to make the hitting area 12 percent larger, so it should produce more ball speed and be more forgiving.

When first released, the Cobra AMP Cell fairway woods cost $219 with a stock Fujikura Fuel graphite shaft.
