Tour Edge Bazooka Max-D45 driver

When Tour Edge gave the Bazooka Max-D45 driver its name, there was no doubt what the company designed the club to do: maximize distance and power.

Designed with golfers who have trouble generating clubhead speed in mind, the Bazooka Max-D45 has a 460cc all-titanium head with an aerodynamic shape the company designed to glide through the air more easily. The stock shaft is a special 55-gram UST Mamiya VTS 5 series.

The Bazooka Max-D45 driver has a deeper face the many clubs in this category. Tour Edge claims that because the face is thicker in the middle and around the edges, the club boasts a large sweet spot that should help high-handicap players gain every yard their swing is capable of producing.

The addition of two internal weights in the rear-heel and rear-toe areas helps increase the moment of inertia (MOI) and make the Bazooka Max-D45 driver resist twisting on slightly off-center hits more effectively.

For players who battle a slice, Tour Edge has made a Draw version of the Bazooka Max-D45 driver. Available in 10.5-, 12- and 15-degree versions, the Bazooka Max-D45 Draw has been given more offset, so it should be easier to square its face on the downswing to avoid unwanted sidespin.

When it was first released, the Bazooka Max-D45 driver sold for $149.
