SAN ANTONIO - Texas Tech captured the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational for the fourth consecutive year Feb. 14 with a three-shot victory over Oklahoma.

The Red Raiders, No. 68 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot a three-round score of 7-over 859 at Oak Hills Country Club. Baylor was third, six shots back, but boasted the individual medalist in Joakim Mikkelsen, who prevailed in a three-hole, sudden-death playoff against Texas Tech freshman Clement Sordet.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the way the guys fought today,” Texas Tech coach Greg Sands said. “It was a lot of fun to watch. Things went back and forth on the back nine, and ultimately it took contributions from every single guy for us to win. It was really good to see them compete, and we are just thrilled to win this tournament for the fourth consecutive year.”
