Put a fourth check in the win column for UCLA. The Bruins won the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Wednesday, their second start of the spring season.

Top-ranked UCLA controlled the 15-team event, played at Palos Verdes (Calif.) Golf Club. UCLA shot even-par 284 in Round 1 for an immediate 11-shot lead. Scores climbed across the board in the following two rounds, but the Bruins’ 18-over 870 gave them a 12-shot victory over USC, No. 4 in Golfweek’s rankings. Pepperdine (No. 37) was at 35-over 887 and finished third for its third consecutive top-3 finish dating to the fall season.

Arizona State, at 39 over, and Duke, at 45 over, finished fourth and fifth on the team leaderboard, respectively.

UCLA also won the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview, Stanford/Pepsi Invitational and the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. Erynne Lee, at 3-over 216, finished third individually at Palos Verdes, and Tiffany Lua was in fourth, another shot back. Lee Lopez and Ani Gulugian also finished inside the top 10 for the Bruins.

Duke’s Lindy Duncan, the top-ranked individual, was the tournament medalist. She shot 3-under 210, and was the only player to finish under par. USC’s Sophia Popov was second, two shots back.
