CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- Washington earned its second team title of the season Feb. 14 at the San Diego Intercollegiate.

The Huskies, No. 11 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, shot a three-round total of 6-over 870, seven shots clear of runner-up USC at San Diego Country Club. UCLA was third at 884.

San Diego’s Alex Ching earned medalist honors at 2-under 214, one stroke ahead of Tennessee’s Garrick Porteous. Three Washington players finished in the top 7 -- Cheng-Tsung Pan (T-3), Chris Williams (T-3) and Trevor Simsby (7th).

The San Diego event represented Washington’s second victory of the season, after the Huskies won the season-opening, rain-shortened Kikkor Husky Invitational.
