LAS VEGAS – Arizona kept its winning ways going at the UNLV Spring Rebel Invitational, winning the tournament just two weeks after winning its home event, the Wildcat Invitational. Shooting 8 over at the par-72 Cascata Golf Club for a total score of 872 (289-294-289), the Wildcats bested host-team and runner-up UNLV by 19 strokes.

San Diego State finished third, 14 shots behind UNLV, followed by New Mexico in fourth place and Louisville in fifth.

Four of the five competing Wildcats finished in the top 5 among individuals, a feat highlighted by co-medalist honors for senior Isabelle Boineau and freshman Manon Gidali. Both players carded 2-over 218 (76-72-70 and 71-76-71, respectively), while Wildcat senior Margarita Ramos (4) shot 5 over.

Nikki Koller (T-5), also a Wildcat senior, was 6 over for the tournament. Teammate Andrea Vilarasau, a freshman, finished in the top 10 at T-8.

“I’m very proud of our team,” said head coach Laura Ianello. “It’s rare to have all of your players in the top 10 and to have two as co-medalists. It was a pretty special week for us."

At 4 over, Dana Finkelstein, UNLV freshman, placed third in the team’s spring opener. Fellow Rebel Mayko Chwen Wang, a freshman, shot 6 over, accompanied by San Diego State senior Malin Enarsson in a three-way tie for fifth.
