Odyssey ProType Tour putters
Wednesday, January 15, 2014
Odyssey created the ProType Tour putter line by blending feedback from Tour players such as Phil Mickelson with modern materials and classic designs.
Each of the seven putters is milled from a solid block of 1025 Carbon steel, which the company says provides very soft feel with a crisp sound at impact. To further increase feel, Odyssey milled the grooves in the face of each ProType Tour putter slightly deeper than those typically found in other Odyssey putters. The company said this increases interaction between the grooves and the ball, improving feel and getting the ball rolling faster.
This line of putters avoids unusual heads and futuristic alignment aids in favor of familiar, confidence-inspiring designs. There are three heel-toe weighted blades, three mid-size mallets and a 2-Ball mallet that features a pair of white disks on the crown. Aside from the 2-Ball putter, each offers only a single black alignment line.
All seven are finished in brushed chrome and, with the exception on the 2-Ball mallet, have thin top lines.
All seven Odyssey ProType Tour putters cost $199.
