Levet pulls out of Abu Dhabi with rib injury
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thomas Levet has pulled out of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship after falling and breaking a rib at the Volvo Golf Champions.
The 43-year-old Frenchman wrote on Twitter that he expected to be out for three to six weeks, adding that an X-ray confirmed that a rib had been broken and that "holidays are on the way." He was injured after slipping on the stairs Saturday on the way to play his third round.
The injury came five months after Levet broke his shin jumping into a lake to celebrate his victory at the French Open. Levet leaped into a lake after beating Mark Foster and Thorbjorn Olesen by a shot, ending his 25-year wait to win his home championship.
