The Club at Carlton Woods to host 2014 U.S. Junior
With the 2012 U.S. Junior Amateur less than a week away, plans are already being made for the 2014 tournament.
The USGA announced Tuesday, July 10 that the 2012 U.S. Junior will be held at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas.
It will be the first time since 2001 that the tournament will take place in Texas. That same year is when The Club at Carlton Woods' Nicklaus Course opened.
“The Jack Nicklaus Course will be a tough examination for the players and will help determine the best junior golfer in the United States," said USGA Vice President and Championship Committee Chairman Thomas J. O’Toole Jr. "In addition, the Houston area is a vibrant golf community that will add to a great life experience for the players.”
The Club at Carlton Woods has hosted a handful of USGA events, including the 2007 Women's State Team Championship and the 2004 Texas State Amateur.
