Ernie Rose has resigned as the head golf coach at Charleston Southern to be closer to his family in Minnesota. Rose spent one year with the Lady Bucaneers, replacing former head coach Kory Thompson at the beginning of the season when she accepted the head women’s job at Augusta State.

Rose guided Charleston Southern to a victory at the Richmond Spider Spring Break Invite, which was the team’s first regular-season title since 2010.

“I have enjoyed my time at Charleston Southern,” says Rose. “I wish the team the best in the years to come.”

Prior to his time at Charleston Southern, Ernie Rose spent two years at the University of Minnesota. As the Director of Instruction, Rose traveled with the Golden Gopher women’s team during the 2010-11 season, the best in Minnesota program history.

Rose, a native of Melbourne, Australia, is a former mini-tour player who also spent time as a caddie on the Champions Tour.
