Monday, June 25, 2012
Rylee Reinertson of Gibbon, Neb., has given a verbal commitment to play for Oklahoma in the fall of 2014. Reinertson is the top player on the Gibbon High School golf team.
Reinertson only visited Oklahoma in his college search, and said he knew immediately it was the right school for him.
“Oklahoma has a tremendous academic program, the facilities are some of the best I’ve ever seen and they will only get better,” he said.
Aside from the Oklahoma campus, which is about seven hours from his home in Gibbon, Reinertson also was drawn to the school because of the opportunity to play for head coach Ryan Hybl.
Reinertson recently won the PGA Junior Series event at ArborLinks in Nebraska City, Neb. In the past year, he has twice finished inside the top 3 in AJGA events, including a runner-up finish at the 2011 AJGA Nebraska Junior at Quarry Oaks. Reinertson was named the co-Nebraska Junior Player of the Year in 2011.
