Reeves, Schubert win AJGA Music City Junior

The final round of the AJGA Music City Junior concluded on June 21 at Richland Country Club in Nashville, Tenn. Ben Reeves and Sophia Schubert won the Boys and Girls divisions, respectively.
Reeves of Knoxville, Tenn., birdied the par-5 18th in a sudden-death playoff against Ben Wolcott of Burns, Tenn., to win the Boys’ 12-18 division. Reeves posted rounds of 74-71-67 to finish at 4-under 212 for the tournament. His final-round 67 included eight birdies. After a double-bogey on the par-4 13th, he birdied three of the last five holes. Wolcott, who also shot a final-round 67, posted rounds of 73 and 72 the first two days to tie Reeves. Wolcott finished in second-place, as he made a par in sudden-death, failing to match Reeves’ birdie.
Alex Green of Fairhope, Ala., who had a four-shot lead heading into the final round, finished one shot back at 3-under 213. Connor Nelson of Roscoe, Ill., shot a 2-under 70 in the final round to post a 1-under 215. David Mackey of Bogart, Ga., took fifth-place with a 1-over 217.
Schubert of Oak Ridge, Tenn., won her first AJGA title, bouncing back from a playoff loss at the Burgett H. Mooney, Jr. Rome Classic on June 14. Schubert posted rounds of 75-74-74 to finish at 7-over 223.
Aliea Clark of Carlsbad, Calif., and Ann Sophia Bohmer of Cali, Colombia, tied for second-place at 10-over 226. Alexandra Farnsworth of Nashville, Tenn., took fourth-place with a 13-over 229. Madison Kerley of Chandler, Ariz., rounded out the top-5 shooting a 14-over 230.
