Tiger Woods returns to the course since a less-than-stellar weekend at The Olympic Club, costing him a shot at his first major title since 2008.

The field at AT&T National features three of the hottest golfers on the planet - Hunter Mahan, Jim Furyk and Woods, while defending champ Nick Watney and Aussie star Adam Scott will also play Congressional.

Woods will tee off at 12:50 p.m. EDT on Thursday with Watney and former AT&T champ K.J. Choi.

While Woods will take many of the headlines this week in Washington, D.C., Mahan is arguably playing the best golf of anyone on the PGA Tour this season and is one of our panelists' favorites this week. Mahan fired a final-round, 9-under 61 at the Travelers Championship last weekend.

As for our fantasy panel, Jim McCabe retains his commanding lead, while Ryan Lavner had the best week at Travelers and continues to gain ground on the panel even though he started picking in May.

Here is a look at this week's picks:

Rank Winner Wild Card Last Week
Rude Hunter Mahan

Has won twice this year, coming off closing 61 at Hartford and finished second the last time this event was at Congressional, in 2009.

Ben Curtis

Since Masters, has won Valero Texas Open, tied for second at the Players and tied for fifth at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Winner: Hunter Mahan ($132,000); wild card: Michael Thompson (MC). 2012 total: $7,068,846.

McCabe Tiger Woods

Who needs the majors? He's going to run the table on tournaments hosted by icons – Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, himself.

Ryan Palmer

He's been a top 10 roll of late – three in a row, four of the last five – and he finished T-21 at the U.S. Open at Congressional last summer. And when the AT & T National was last at Congressional, in 2009? He was T-22.

Winner: Keegan Bradley ($36,525); wild card: Blake Adams ($36,525). 2012 total: $8,720,644.

Martin Jim Furyk

Has finished no worse than 26th in his past nine starts, dating back to the Transitions Championship in March. The only question will be how he rebounds from his U.S. Open struggles.

J.B. Holmes

Has a 62 and a 64 in his past two starts.

Winner: Michael Thompson (MC); wild card: Patrick Cantlay (MC). 2012 total: $5,126,091.

Ringler Jim Furyk

Good form at Congressional with four top-7 finishes in six career starts. Has finished in the top 26 in nine consecutive events.

Jeff Overton

Placed 13th in his last outing and tied for ninth in this event in 2008.

Winner: Zach Johnson ($12,600); wild card: Charlie Wi ($49,800). 2012 total: $4,714,925.

Lavner Hunter Mahan

Closed with 61 to finish T-11 in Hartford. Was 2nd here in 2009, the last year Congressional hosted the AT&T. Could be win No. 3.

Rory Sabbatini

It’s been a difficult season for the fiery South African, but he’s finished T-2 and T-18 in his past two starts, respectively.

Winner: Matt Kuchar ($174,000); wild card: Padraig Harrington ($132,000). 2012 total: $2,536,495.
