FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Former Arkansas golfer Stacy Lewis is donating $100,000 to her alma mater.

The university announced the gift Wednesday and said it will go toward expanding the Razorback golf training facilities.

Lewis is in town for the LPGA’s Northwest Arkansas Championship, which runs Friday through Sunday. Pro-am events were scheduled Wednesday and Thursday.

Lewis enters the tournament ranked No. 2 in the world and as the highest-ranked American player.

UA Chancellor G. David Gearhart says Lewis’ gift reflects her devotion to helping other Arkansas students become successful.

Lewis graduated in 2008 with a degree in finance.
