Murphy (No. 40, 2013) commits to Oregon State
Kevin Murphy, the top junior golfer in the state of Oregon, has given a verbal commitment to play college golf at Oregon State. Murphy is ranked No. 40 in the class of 2013, and decided on Oregon State after also making unofficial visits and entertaining offers from Oregon, Arizona State and Utah.
“Oregon State seemed like the best fit for me,” Murphy said. “ I really like (coach) Jon Reehoorn. He seems like the perfect coach for me.”
Murphy will be a senior this fall at Rogue River High School in Rogue River, Ore.
Murphy recently tied for sixth place at the AJGA Under Armour/Gary Woodland Championship and won the Oregon State High School Championship. Murphy is also the defending PNGA Junior Amateur champion.
